Things are getting spooky stylish in Mrs. Janak’s Interior Design class! 👻 Students are putting the finishing touches on their haunted house projects, using their knowledge of design elements, principles, and housing styles to bring eerie creativity to life. From gothic details to haunted elegance, these designs are sure to impress! 🕸️✨ Stay tuned to see their final haunted masterpieces! 🏚️💀

Cadets of the month for Sept/Oct 2025. Cadet Becca TeRonde, Cadet Wyatt Fontaine, Cadet William Zufall, and Cadet Brandi Harald. All have shown significant leadership potential and greatly impacted our cadet corps so far this year. We are grateful for their contributions to the program and their community. Can’t wait to see how they grow even more over the year!

💙 Happy School Psychologist Week! This week we’re celebrating Bruce — our amazing school psychologist who puts his heart into everything he does. Bruce is dedicated, compassionate, and truly passionate about supporting our students, especially those with disabilities. 🎓 On College & Career Day (Oct. 28), our sophomore students had the opportunity to explore Southeast Technical College!

They learned about different programs, toured the campus, and discovered new possibilities for their future. 💡✨

🎃🧠 Mrs. Bussa’s PSI (positive student interaction) classes took a fun brain break this past Friday on Halloween! Students got to interact with their classmates, decorate mini pumpkins, play some Halloween trivia, and show off their costumes. 👻💫 A perfect mix of creativity, learning, and laughter! #PSI #BrainBreak #HalloweenFun #RiderPride

✨🎭 Our winter play “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” opens in just two weeks! Follow the story of an egotistical toy rabbit who gets lost—and in the process, discovers himself. 🐇💫

With 60 talented students bringing this magical story to life, you won’t want to miss it!

This year, our teachers took on a fun twist — they had to bring anything but a Halloween bucket to collect their candy! From creative containers to hilarious ideas, the competition was fierce. 😆👻

School Resource Officer Estep joined Mrs. Sherman's English II class to provide some perspective on how law enforcement handles difficult situations. They were able to use Officer Estep's thoughts to connect to multiple characters in the book they've been reading and give context to the actions those characters took.

Thanks for taking the time to come into class, Officer Estep!

Flyboy Donuts hosted all of the RISE students yesterday for a Career Day field trip. The students learned about job skills needed to work in the restaurant industry. Stacy from Flyboy did a great job presenting to our students and telling them interesting information about working at a donut shop!

The students had a wonderful time and got to choose their own donut to enjoy! Way to go Riders!

Roosevelt staff demonstrated Servant Leadership by teaming up with Active Generations Rake the Town event! A city-wide raking event dedicated to helping seniors and individuals with disabilities in our community. This initiative is designed to support those aged 60 and above who may not have family or assistance nearby to help with yard work. Way to make Roosevelt proud!♥️🍂

🌿 Club Spotlight: Greenhouse Club! 🌿

Led by Mr. Mitchell, the Greenhouse Club is where students learn to care for, identify, and propagate plants. 🌱 They even collaborate with Art Club and Pottery Club to create and decorate unique plant pots!

Their mission? To make the Roosevelt greenhouse a standout feature that brings life and greenery to our halls — and to inspire a love for plant care. 💚

First up — the Indigenous Student Union (ISU)! 🪶
ISU meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday alongside the RHS Drum Group. Together, they plan, organize, and lead events that celebrate and support Native American students and culture — including tutoring, cultural outreach, Native American Day, Heritage Month, the Native American Parade, and RHS school events.
