🎉 Happy Retirement, Vicki! 🎉 We are so grateful for the dedication, kindness, and care Vicki has shared as one of our amazing RISE ESPs. She will be deeply missed by both students and staff, but we are so excited for her next chapter. Wishing you a retirement filled with joy and well-deserved relaxation!

Day 3 of our 7 Days of Winter Break Dress-Up brought festive fits—and a surprise celebrity appearance by Santa’s lawyer 😎🎅

Mr. Kidd reached out to an art teacher from JFK and had her kindergarten students draw monsters on the first day of school. From there he printed the monster drawings out and surprised each of his ceramics 1 students with a drawing.

Over the course of 2ish months, RHS students sculpted their drawings and brought them to life.

Today they all took a trip to JFK and delivered them in person!

Each RHS student wrote a handwritten note to the kids describing their monsters. It was an incredible experience and could not have been done without these kids at RHS!

🐾 Yesterday in Mrs. Warren’s 3rd period, students learned about stress and how emotional support animals can help—thanks to Bumper from Golden Academy! A paws-itively calming visit. 💛

AshLeigh Cook of Ignite Fitness Studio stopped by to visit with Student Leadership as a guest speaker. AshLeigh shared her experiences of starting her business, the passion you must have for serving others, and the importance of understanding your own values as a leader.  Thanks, AshLeigh!!

📚✨ FVR Days in Señora Morales’ Class! ✨📚

Our students have been loving FVR — Free Voluntary Reading — a fun and engaging way to dive into the Spanish language! 🇪🇸

They get to choose their own Spanish books and spend about 10 minutes each FVR day getting lost in their stories. It’s honestly the cutest thing watching them get excited about reading an entire book in another language. 😍📖

We love seeing their confidence grow with every page they turn! ❤️

December has officially started, which means it’s time to kick off our annual Charge for Charity Week! 🎁
Here are the days for next week, including what to donate and where each item will go, so your Ad Rooms can join in the fun while giving back to our community. Encourage everyone to show their spirit—grade levels will compete all week long for the coveted Spirit Stick! ✨

Last week, students in the Jobs for America's Graduates program wrapped up their 3rd annual JAG Leadership Forum, a program they have created in partnership with students and staff from the other three JAG programs across the District. After weeks of research and preparation, Roosevelt JAG students traveled to Jefferson High School, where they participated in four sessions with local civic, business, and industry leaders to learn about important leadership and professional topics.  Please enjoy this video about the JAG program!
